Kitchener is grimier than a lot of you may think. it sucks. this is one of our local hookers. strung out and blowing it. can't help but feel bad for her...and chuckle too.

camera obscura

So I've had this idea for a while now...I want to sort of create a camera obscura and focus on the human form. It will focus shadow and the subjects will be anonymous. There used to be this homeless guy here whos entire head and beard were one giant dread lock...I would see him all over the place when I was a kid. He has since died. This is what he looked like through my 10 year old eyes. Well...maybe not but either way...hairy hobos.

greetings from somewhere depressing

I don't know what it is about kitchener...I have a love/hate relationship with it. The past few days it's been more hate than love...I have started doodling and drawing a lot the past week or so now in an effort to conserve film and to start creating Love graphics myself. This is a little piece I put together last night..
I hate the look of the computerized font in the drawing and this isn't even really abou kitchener but city life in general..this will most likely not get used...but it was still enjoyable to draw.

First post...

Well...I hate blogs and the idea of the internet in general but since so many people are using it and an idea that doesn't reach people is pointless...I might as well use the modern tool and embrace it a bit.
The blog will feature tid bits of things I'm working on. Writing, drawings, photography...a series of post cards etc.. Here is the first post. A few photographs shot on 35mm from a recent trip to Detroit. ( despite the blog header I actually love that city..the friendships there, the skating, the inspiration found in its rugged urban landscape.) Enjoy.
