Oil Spill
This is a print of a piece I did for the Peace Love Art show that is happening next weekend ( Sat Sept 7 ) at Little Bean Cafe in Kitchener.
The show is a benefit event/art auction to raise money, awareness and support for Sea Shepherds.
The Sea Shepherds fight ocean poaching which is a huge issue these days...I never really do aquatic life pieces but I am opposed to the poaching of animals...and as much as I am bummed on poaching I am equally bummed on the havoc caused by ocean/land oil extraction. I didn't set out to do a painting about oil spills...I usually have no idea what I am doing until the painting is finished..when it was done, to me it represented an oil spill...so I went with it.
Go to the event Sept 7 and bid on some art..there is some seriously amazing submissions and some super cool raffle prizes.
The print is 16x20...the painting is 8x10
